What to expect when you reach out

How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

You talk to an independent provider in our network. That may be a plumber, a drain specialist, a sewer contractor or someone who schedules for one of them. They run their own businesses. Speedsooner Plumbing makes the introduction and steps back.

What Happens on the Call

Expect a few plain questions. Where is the problem? Is water still running? Is there standing water or a sewage smell? Can you reach the shutoff valve?

Then the provider will tell you whether they can help and when they might arrive. Availability differs by provider, so Request a callback to check what is open for your address.

Have these ready:

  • Your address and a good callback number
  • A short description of what happened and when
  • A few photos, if you have already taken them
  • Your insurer's name, in case you need to ask about a claim

What to Ask a Plumber

You are hiring someone to work in your home. Ask clearly.

  • Are you licensed and insured for this work?
  • Is this a flat price or a rate by the hour?
  • What could change the price once you see the problem?
  • Will you give me a written quote before starting?
  • Can you help document the damage in case I file a claim?
  • Is there a warranty on parts and labor?

Write down the answers. Keep the record with your photos.

Do and Do Not

  • Do shut off water at the main if a pipe is leaking and the valve is safe to reach.
  • Do stay away from standing water near outlets or appliances.
  • Do not mix drain chemicals. The fumes can hurt you.
  • Do not sign a large job until you have read the quote.

You Are in Control

Talking to a provider does not lock you in. You can ask questions, compare quotes and say no. Typical costs vary by job, so a written quote matters. If something feels rushed, slow down and ask again.
